Private Residence

This native style landscape was installed in 2003 for a private residence in Ketchum. The client wanted to recreate of the surrounding natural areas. We used local stone to create natralistic rock outcroppings. Native grasses and wildflowers were added to create a meadow in the front yard. Flame willows and rabbit bush complete the landscape design. Wells Rawls - Landscape Designer

The look is clean and modern with 24" by 24" concrete slabs around the spa. Blue lupine and wild sunflowers add color throughout the year. Hops were planted to drape over the retaining wall to the right of the driveway. Hops were chosen because of their fast growth and deep green color to soften the hard edge of the wall.
Blue Oat Grass adds interest to the planters along the front entry. Purple cone Flowers were planted to add color. They re-seed each year to increase their impact without additional planting. The driveway is heated to melt snow and ice in the winter. The water runs down to a simulated dry river bed to direct it away from the house.
